Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
RESEARCH - ZARTICO, DESTIMETRICS, & RRC RESIDENT SENTIMENT SURVEY - $70,000RESEARCH HAS AND CONTINUES TO BE A VALUABLE AND INTEGRAL PART OF OUR OVERALL STRATEGY. THE STATISTICAL QUANTITATIVE AND QUALITATIVE DATA GLEANED FROM THESE RESOURCES ALLOWS US TO MAKE SOUND PLANS AND DECISIONS. THESE INPUTS CAN ACT AS INDICATORS FOR US TO MEASURE THE PLANS AND DECISIONS THAT WE IMPLEMENT. LASTLY, WE ARE ABLE TO SHARE THE VAST MAJORITY OF THIS DATA WITH LOCAL STAKEHOLDERS SO THAT THEY CAN LEVERAGE THE INFORMATION FOR SIMILAR PURPOSES.
YEAR-ROUND ADVERTISING - $1,000,000WE'RE CONSTANTLY LOOKING FOR NEW AND INNOVATIVE WAYS TO BREAK THROUGH THE CLUTTER, TO TELL UNIQUE STORIES, AND TO CONVEY THE THINGS THAT TRULY MAKE THE SUN VALLEY AREA SPECIAL TO THE PEOPLE THAT WILL APPRECIATE AND RESPECT IT TO THE FULLEST. WE ARE PROUD OF THE SUSTAINED GROWTH AND EXPOSURE THAT THE AREA HAS RECEIVED THIS PAST YEAR. KEY ADVERTISING HIGHLIGHTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR INCLUDE:- CONTENT PARTNERSHIP WITH ACCIDENTALLY WES ANDERSON- CONTENT PARTNERSHIP WITH WEEKEND SHERPA- CONTENT PARTNERSHIP WITH SKI- REDDIT DISPLAY ADVERTISING- CONNECTED TV SPOTS THROUGH HUDDLED MASSESKEY WINS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR INCLUDED STRONG AIRLINE OCCUPANCY (ESPECIALLY COMING OUT OF A PANDEMIC), STRONG HOTEL OCCUPANCIES, SIGNIFICANT INCREASES IN LOCAL OPTION TAX COLLECTIONS, AND MANAGEABLE TRAFFIC COUNTS.
STAY SUNNY - $350,000IN AN EFFORT TO MITIGATE EROSION OF THE MOUNTAIN TOWN CULTURE THAT THE SUN VALLEY AREA SO GREATLY CHERISHES, WE IMPLEMENTED THE STAY SUNNY CAMPAIGN IN 2021. IT HAS BEEN A RESPONSE TO THE SURGE IN NEWCOMERS WHO HAD A BIT OF A DIFFERENT AGENDA AND PACE THAN WHAT THE SUN VALLEY AREA EMBODIES. STAY SUNNY AIMS TO REMIND FOLKS THAT THIS PLACE IS BEST ENJOYED WITH A DEEP BREATHE, SOME MINDFULNESS, AND RESPECT FOR THE RESOURCES AND PEOPLE HERE. WE LEARNED FROM THE PAST YEAR THAT LOCALS TEND TO FEEL THAT THIS CAMPAIGN IS SPEAKING TO THEM VERSUS THE NEWCOMERS, AND THEY DON'T LIKE BEING TOLD WHAT TO DO. WE TOOK THIS LEARNING AND SOUGHT OUT ACTIVATIONS THAT WERE LESS VISIBLE TO EVERYONE AND INSTEAD WERE MORE TARGETED SPECIFICALLY TO THE NEWCOMERS. OUR SUCCESS WAS BASED ON RECEIVING MORE COMPLIMENTS FROM VISITORS AND LESS COMPLAINTS FROM LOCALS. ADDITIONALLY, WE ARE HANGING OUR HATS ON EXPOSURE THAT THE CAMPAIGN RECEIVED VIA MULTIPLE SUN VALLEY ROUND-UP STORIES.
