SPORTS PROMOTION AND MARKETING - THE SPORTS COMPETITIONS AND EVENTS THAT THE UTAH SPORTS COMMISSION PARTNERS WITH SERVE AS VALUABLE ECONOMIC IMPACT AND IMAGE BUILDING DRIVERS, ESPECIALLY THOSE THAT PROVIDE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL TELEVISION EXPOSURE. BY SHOWCASING UTAH'S AWE-INSPIRING LANDSCAPES TO A BROAD AUDIENCE, THE ORGANIZATION MORE EFFECTIVELY TARGETS KEY TOURISM DEMOGRAPHICS THROUGH STRATEGIC ADVERTISEMENTS, BRAND ASSOCIATIONS, AND CALLS TO ACTION. ADDITIONALLY, BECAUSE MAJOR SPORTS COMPETITIONS TEND TO BE FOLLOWED BY SIGNIFICANT TELEVISION COVERAGE, DIGITAL, SOCIAL, AND OTHER MEDIA ASSETS, THE ORGANIZATION ACTIVELY PURSUES THESE TYPES OF EVENTS AS PART OF ITS MARKETING AND BRANDING STRATEGY. SPORTS AWARDS AND SPONSORSHIPS - THE SPORTS AWARDS AND SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO ATTRACT, RETAIN, AND GROW NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PROFESSIONAL SPORTS COMPETITIONS THAT TAKE PLACE WITHIN THE STATE OF UTAH. SPONSORSHIP IS PROVIDED TO EVENTS THAT GENERATE SIGNIFICANT ECONOMIC IMPACT, MEDIA EXPOSURE, AND/OR ARE OF STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE IN POSITIONING THE STATE FAVORABLY IN A PARTICULAR SPORTS DISCIPLINE, CATEGORY, OR GENRE.
UTAH OLYMPIC LEGACY AND RELATED EFFORTS - THE GOVERNOR AND THE UTAH STATE LEGISLATURE HAVE ENCOURAGED THE UTAH SPORTS COMMISSION TO ASSIST WITH THE STATE'S OLYMPIC BID AND EXPLORATION EFFORTS. THE ORGANIZATION HAS MAINTAINED A LONG RUNNING FOCUS ON LANDING EVENTS THAT BUILD ON UTAH'S OLYMPIC LEGACY AND POSITION THE STATE FAVORABLY WITH KEY OLYMPIC CONSTITUENCIES AS IT LOOKS TO HOST ANOTHER OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES. THE UTAH SPORTS COMMISSION, THE STATE OF UTAH, AND ITS MANY PARTNERS HAVE MAINTAINED AND SUCCESSFULLY EXECUTED ON A COMPREHENSIVE STRATEGY THAT HAS LEFT UTAH UNIQUELY POSITIONED AS "READY, WILLING, AND ABLE" TO HOST ANOTHER OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES.
