IN THE 2022-2023 FISCAL YEAR, THE AMERICAN CHEKHOV PROJECT BEGAN PREPARATIONS FOR THEIR EARLY 2024 PRODUCTION OF THE LOWER DEPTHS. THIS INCLUDED WORKSHOPS AND FUNDRAISERS WITH ORGANIZATIONS LIKE PATH WITH ART, RECOVERY CAFE, AND MARY'S PLACE. OUR GREAT SOULS SERIES CONTINUED BOTH ONLINE AND IN PERSON, INCLUDING ONE EVENT THAT PARTNERED IN RAISING FUNDS FOR SEAGULL PROJECT AND MARY'S PLACE. THESE EVENTS WERE BUILT TO SERVE AND IMPACT FOLKS WHO ARE AFFECTED BY SYMPTOMS THAT LEAD TO HOMELESSNESS. WORKSHOPS AND SCRIPT DEVELOPMENT MEETINGS WERE HELD WEEKLY TO PREPARE FOR OUR UPCOMING PRODUCTION, AND A NOVEMBER 12TH FUNDRAISER, "STAND UP FOR THE LOWER DEPTHS" BROUGHT OUR PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS TOGETHER FOR AN EVENING OF PERFORMANCE, COMMUNITY SERVICE, AND NONPROFIT SUPPORT. IN JANUARY OF 2024 WE WILL BEGIN REHEARSALS FOR THE LOWER DEPTHS, CO-PRODUCED WITH INTIMAN THEATRE, OPENING IN EARLY FEBRUARY 2024.
