THE ORGANIZATION PROMOTES ARTISTIC MASTERY AND COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN THE VISUAL ARTS THROUGH INNOVATIVE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING, CONTEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS, AND DYNAMIC EVENTS WHILE PROVIDING STEWARDSHIP OF THE HISTORIC PETER KIRK BUILDING.

Part 3 - Line 4a

EDUCATION - THE CENTER SERVES APPROXIMATELY 2,500 STUDENTS ANNUALLY. CLASSES INCLUDE CERAMICS, SCULPTURE, PRINTMAKING, PAINTING, DRAWING AND MULTIMEDIA ART. THE CLASSES SERVE ALL AGES INCLUDING TODDLERS. FACILITIES INCLUDE A LARGE CLASSROOM FOR PAINTING AND DRAWING CLASSES, A PRINT-MAKING STUDIO, AND A COMPLETE CERAMICS FACILITY EQUIPPED WITH TWO GAS-FIRED KILNS.


GALLERY - THE CENTER'S GALLERY SUPPORTS AND FOSTERS REGIONAL ARTISTS WHICH ENCOURAGES INNOVATION AND CREATIVITY AS WELL AS PROVIDING RARE OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDEPENDENT CURATORS. WITH A COMMITTMENT TO ENGAGING ACCESSIBLE CONTEMPORARY ART THE GALLERY SHOWCASES BOTH EMERGING AND ESTABLISHED ARTISTS WHO ARE EXAMINING EMERGING THEMES AND REGIONAL STYLES. CRITICALLY AND POPULARLY ACCLAIMED, THE GALLERY IS THE ONLY FREE, PROFESSIONAL, NON-PROFIT ON THE EASTSIDE OF SEATTLE.
