FROM HERE - SINCE MOVING TO OUR LARGER LOCATION IN 2019 THE SHOP HAS SINCE GROWN TO REPRESENT THE WORKS OF 110 PARTICIPATING ARTISTS. AT THE END OF 2021 WE WERE ALSO ABLE TO HIRE A FULL-TIME MANAGER TO HELP TO SUSTAIN THIS PROGRAM. THIS LOCATION HAS CONTINUED OUR ABILITY TO AMPLIFY LOCAL ARTISTS IN OUR COMMUNITY AND EXPOSE THEIR WORK TO A BROADER AUDIENCE. IN 2021, OUR OPERATIONS DIRECTOR TRAVELED TO PHOENIX WITH VISIT SPOKANE TO SHARE THE UNIQUE GOODS OF 20 OF THE FROM HERE PARTICIPANTS IN A WAY THAT SHOWCASED THE UNIQUE TALENT OUR REGION HAS TO OFFER.
ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS - WE CONTINUED FUNDRAISING FOR THE EAST SPRAGUE PUBLIC ART PROJECT AND BEGAN TO SOLIDIFY THE PROJECT TIMING AND SCALE. WORKING IN COLLABORATION WITH CARL MAXEY CENTER, TERRAIN WILL PRODUCE A UNIQUE, LARGE-SCALE PUBLIC ART PROJECT FOCUSED ON UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES IN THE EAST SPRAGUE NEIGHBORHOOD. ESTABLISHED AS A SUBURB FOR WORKING-CLASS, IMMIGRANT FAMILIES, EAST CENTRAL IS ONE OF THE OLDEST NEIGHBORHOODS IN THE CITY AND CONTINUES TO BE ONE OF THE MOST DIVERSE. THE PROJECT WILL INCLUDE WORKING VERY CLOSELY WITH NEIGHBORHOOD LEADERS, SCHOOLS, AND COMMUNITY CENTERS TO COLLECT PHOTOGRAPHS AND STORIES FROM THOSE LIVING IN THE EAST SPRAGUE NEIGHBORHOOD AND USE THESE TO CREATE SEVERAL MURALS THROUGHOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD. THE GOAL OF THE PUBLIC ART PIECE IS TO PAY HOMAGE TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE THERE. WE HAVE CONTINUED SUCCESSFULLY FUNDRAISING FOR THE PROJECT THROUGHOUT 2021 AND PLAN TO COMPLETE THE PUBLIC ART PROJECT IN 2022. IN 2021 WE BROUGHT BACK OUR LARGE ART MARKETS BAZAAR & BRRRZAAR.
