COKATO FOOD SHELF PROVIDES A VARIETY OF SHELF STABLE FOOD AND FOOD PRODUCTS TO PEOPLE IN NEED IN COKATO, MN. WE ACCEPT DONATIONS OF FOOD, TOILETRIES, PAPER PRODUCTS, AND MONEY FROM LOCAL CHURCHES, COMMUNITY MEMBERS, BUSINESSES, AND ORGANIZATIONS. HOUSEHOLDS IN NEED ARE GIVEN SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD BASED ON THE ITEMS THAT HAVE BEEN DONATED AND PURCHASED TO DISTRIBUTE. AS FUNDS PERMIT, WE ALSO PROVIDE HOUSEHOLDS WITH A VOUCHER TO BE USED AT "THE MARKETPLACE," THE GROCERY STORE IN COKATO, TO BE REDEEMED FOR THEIR CHOICE OF MILK, BREAD, EGGS, MEAT, AND FRESH PRODUCE WITHIN THE DOLLAR AMOUNT LISTED ON THE VOUCHER. "THE MARKETPLACE" RETURNS THE VOUCHERS TO COKATO FOOD SHELF WITH COPIES OF THE RECEIPTS AND COKATO FOOD SHELF PAYS THE BILL WITH MONEY THAT HAS BEEN DONATED.
