THE STUDENT HUNGER DRIVE IS ENGAGED IN THE BUSINESS OF THE COLLECTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD FOR THE NEEDY. PERSONS BENEFITED INCLUDE PEOPLE WHO REQUEST SERVICES FROM FOOD PANTRIES, SOUP KITCHENS, ETC. IN 4 COUNTIES IN IA AND IL. ALL EXPENSES ARE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS ACTIVITY. THESE EXPENSES INCLUDE AWARDS FOR AREA SCHOOLS THAT COLLECT THE MOST FOOD AND THE DAY TO DAY EXPENSES INCLUDING SALARIES PAID TO EMPLOYEES FOR RUNNING THE FOUNDATION. ALL REVENUES ARE DONATIONS TO THE FOUNDATION FROM LOCAL CITIZENS AND BUSINESS IN THE FORM OF CASH OR SERVICES SUCH AS ADVERTISING. IN ADDITION, THE FOUNDATION RECEIVES DONATIONS IN THE FORM OF FOOD DONATIONS FROM THE COMMUNITIES AND VALUES THE FOOD IT COLLECTS AT 2 PER POUND.
