Part 3
THROUGH OUR VOLUNTEERS IN AFGHANISTAN, WE DISTRIBUTED FUNDS FOR ALLOCATING FUNDS TO FAMILIES. 10,000 WAS DISTRIBUTED IN 3 PROVINCES FOR A TOTAL OF 75 OR MORE FAMILIES WITH 100 PER FAMILY FOR FOOD, SHELTER, AND MEDICAL NECESSITIES. 3000 WAS DISTRIBUTED IN JELALABAD; 3000 DISTRIBUTED TO FAMILIES IN HERAT. THE REMAINING FUNDS ARE DISTRIBUTED TO FAMILIES IN KABUL. SOMETIMES WE HAVE MEDICAL CASES AND OTHER EXTRA PROJECTS THAT REQUIRE FUNDS IMMEDIATELY SO WE ALWAYS SEND BACKUP MONEY IN CASE OF EMERGENCY SITUATIONS.
DURING RAMADAN IS THE MONTH WHERE WE SEND MORE MONEY BECAUSE DONORS ARE MORE GENEROUS AND WE SUPPORT APPROXIMATELY 100 OR MORE FAMILIES DURING RAMADAN BY PROVIDING THEM GROCERIES SUCH AS RICE, FLOUR, OIL, SALT, SUGAR, BEANS, AND VEGETABLES. THERE WERE A FEW MEDICAL EXPENSES THAT NEEDED IMMEDIATE ATTENTION EACH CASE WAS ABOUT 2000 TO 3000 AND THE TREATMENT IS STILL ONGOING. ONE OF THE CASES REQUIRED IMMEDIATE ATTENTION FOR A 12 YEAR OLD WHO HAD AN OPEN HEART SURGERY FOR THE SECOND TIME.
THE FUNDS ARE FOR THE FAMILIES THAT WE SPONSOR ON A MONTHLY BASIS. WE NOW SERVE MORE THAN 75 TO 90 WIDOWS AND THEIR ORPHAN CHILDREN. SOME FUNDS WERE USED FOR WINTER PROJECT INCLUDES WARM CLOTHING, WOOD BURNING STOVE, BLANKETS AND FOOD, KIDS SCHOOL SUPPLIES PROJECT, EID PROJECT, RAMADAN PROJECT, AND BUILDING WATER WELLS FOR SCHOOLS AND IN SMALL VILLAGES WHERE PEOPLE ARE IN NEED OF CLEAN DRINKING WATER
