HACKTHEU HOSTED THEIR FIRST ANNUAL HACKATHON ON NOVEMBER 11TH, 2016. AT THIS EVENT, IT UNITED COLLEGIATE STUDENTS FROM ACROSS THE REGION AND FROM OVER 5 DIFFERENT UNIVERSITIES. THE TOTAL ATTENDANCE WAS APPROXIMATELY 170 STUDENTS WHO HAVE GONE ON TO PURSUE CAREERS THROUGHOUT THE TECHNOLOGICAL INDUSTRY AND MANY HAVE LISTED HACKTHEU ON THEIR CVS. AT THE EVENT ITSELF, APPLICATIONS CREATED OF NOTE WERE AN AUGMENTED REALITY APPLICATION THAT AIDED THE USER IN SPEAKING WITH AUTISTIC CHILDREN WHILE ANOTHER APPLICATION ALLOWED THE USER TO STEP INTO A VIRTUAL REALITY ZONE IN WHICH THEY COULD LISTEN TO MUSIC AS THEY NAVIGATED THE STARS. THE EVENT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS AND HAS RECEIVED RECOGNITION FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH TO HOST THEIR SECOND ANNUAL EVENT TO TAKE PLACE ON OCTOBER 27TH-28TH, 2017.
