THE UTAH STEM BUS PROGRAM RECEIVED CONTINUTED SUPPORT FOR YEAR FIVE OF THE FIVE-YEAR GRANT, WHICH WILL PROVIDE CONTINUED SUSTAINABILITY OF THE PROGRAM, INCLUDING FUNDING FOR STAFFING NEEDS AND EQUIPMENT. THE STAFF DRIVE THE BUS TO SCHOOLS IN UTAH TO PROVIDE HANDS-ON STEM INSTRUCTION. WE CONTINUE TO HAVE A WAITING LIST OF OVER 100 SCHOOLS THAT ARE WAITING TO RECEIVE THE STEM BUS TO COME AND INSTRUCT AT THEIR SCHOOL.
THE UTAH STEM FOUNDATION CREATED AN ENTREPRENEURIAL CHALLENGE FOR GIRLS WHO CODE (GWC) CLUBS IN UTAH. THIS CHALLENGE IS AN EFFORT TO SUPPORT GIRLS IN CODING AND BRIDGE THE GENDER GAP IN CAREERS. AWARDS ARE GIVEN ON AN ANNUAL BASIS IN THE FORM OF FUNDING THROUGH DONATIONS OF VARIOUS CORPORATE PARTNERS. THESE AWARDS ARE FOR MARKETABLE, SUSTAINABLE, CREATIVE PROJECTS CREATED THROUGH THE GWC CURRICULUM. AWARDS ARE ALSO GIVEN TO PEER MENTORS AND FACILITATORS THAT GO ABOVE AND BEYOND WITH THEIR CLUB MENTORING ABILITIES, AND AWARDS ARE ALSO GIVEN FOR ESSAY CHALLENGES FROM 3-5 GRADE CLUB MEMBERS WHO READ THE GWC BOOK.
