IN 2021, AIA LAUNCHED THE LAB@AGSTART, A NEW INCUBATOR FOR SCIENCE- BASED STARTUP COMPANIES IN WOODLAND, CA. THE LAB@AGSTART HOUSES AND SUPPORTS REGIONAL AG|FOOD|HEALTH TECHNOLOGY STARTUPS TO HELP GROW ECONOMIC ACTIVITY IN WOODLAND AND THE SURROUNDING GREATER-SACRAMENTO REGION. REVENUES INCLUDE USER FEES THAT HELP OFFSET THE COSTS OF OPERATIONS. EXPENSES INCLUDE EQUIPMENT, CONSUMABLE SUPPLIES, OCCUPANCY AND STAFFING COSTS TO OPEN AND OPERATE THE FACILITY.


EDUCATION AND MENTORSHIP OF INNOVATORS AND ENTREPRENEURS PURSUING AG- -FOOD INNOVATION IN AGSTART'S GREATER-SACRAMENTO REGION AND BEYOND. MONTHLY OFFICE HOURS MENTORING SESSIONS, VIRTUAL SPEAKER SESSIONS. HOSTED SEVERAL SESSIONS OF EDUCATION AND MENTORSHIP FOR CANADIAN AGTECH ENTREPRENEURS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CANADIAN CONSULATE, INCLUDING A DOZEN CANADIAN ENTREPRENEURIAL STARTUP TEAMS.
