THE MISSION OF ALLIANCE FOR VERMONT COMMUNITIES, INC. IS TO PROTECT WORKING FARMS, FORESTS AND COMMUNITIES OF CENTRAL VERMONT AND TO PROMOTE RESPONSIBLE DEVELOPMENT THAT WILL SUSTAIN THE RURAL HERITAGE AND VALUES FOR PRESENT AND FUTURE GENERATIONS.

OFFERS PUBLIC EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS TO RESIDENTS OF THE REGION AND OTHER CITIZENS OF VERMONT ABOUT THE EXISTING VALUES OF THE REGION. HOST INFORMATIONAL SESSIONS FOR OTHER NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN THE STATE OF VERMONT AS WELL. DEVELOPS AND SEEKS TO IMPLEMENT, IN COORDINATION WITH REGIONAL AND STATEWIDE LAND TRUST ORGANIZATIONS, A PLAN FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE MOST CRITICAL PORTIONS OF THE REGION, ESPECIALLY IN THE AREAS OF RESOURCE CONSERVATION AND AGRICULTURE. PROMOTES AWARENESS OF THE FULL SUITE OF NATURAL, CULTURAL AND SOCIAL VALUES PRESENT IN THE REGION.ALLIANCE FOR VERMONT COMMUNITIES, INC. DISSOLVED AS OF OCTOBER 24, 2022. AS PART OF THE DISSOLUTION IT GRANTED THE LAND TO THE TOWN OF SHARON AND TOWN OF STRAFFORD AND GRANTED VARIOUS OTHER FUNDS TO STATE GOVERMENTS AND NON-PROFIT ENTITIES.
