IN 2020, PFC SUPPORTS STATE LEGISLATIVE EFFORTS TO END SURPRISE BILLING WITH STRONG PATIENT PROTECTIONS BY TAKING THE PATIENT OUT OF THE MIDDLE OF DISPUTES BETWEEN INSURERS AND PHYSICIANS, APPLYING PATIENT OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES AT THE IN-NETWORK RATE FOR UNEXPECTED OUT-OF-NETWORK SERVICES, ENSURING ACCESS TO CARE THROUGH FAIR REIMBURSEMENT AND A PROVEN MECHANISM FOR APPEAL FOR PHYSICIANS AND INSURERS, AND IMPROVING TRANSPARENCY FOR BOTH PATIENTS AND PHYSICIANS. WORKING CLOSELY WITH LOCAL PHYSICIAN AND PATIENT GROUPS, AS WELL AS OTHER STAKEHOLDERS, WE BUILD COALITIONS, ENGAGE GRASSROOTS AND IMPLEMENT INTEGRATED PUBLIC RELATIONS TO EDUCATE ANDADVOCATE.
