RENOVATION OF THE MT. ZION AME CHURCH, WHICH WILL SERVE AS THE FUTURE SITE OF THE MUSEUM, AND PURCHASE AND RENOVATION OF TRUE FARMSTEAD. SSAAM IS THE SOLE OWNER OF THE MT. ZION AME CHURCH PROPERTY. TRUE FARMSTEAD IS JOINTLY OWNED BY SSAAM AND THE SOURLAND CONSERVANCY, A SEPARATE 501(C)(3) NONPROFIT CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION. THE TWO ORGANIZATIONS WILL BE BUILDING A JOINTLY OWNED "CENTER" FOR OFFICE SPACE, EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, AND EXHIBITIONS.

THE EVENT TOOK PLACE AT THE NATIONAL HISTORIC REGISTER-LISTED MT. ZION AME CHURCH IN SKILLMAN AND THE ADJACENT TRUE FARMSTEAD, A HISTORIC AFRICAN AMERICAN-OWNED PROPERTY.
