AFP OFFERS HOLISTIC SPIRITUAL CARE TO BRING BOTH HEALING AND HOPE TO FORMERLY HOMELESS NEIGHBORS THROUGH ECUMENICAL SERVICES, PRAYER SCRIPTURE OPPORTUNITIES, AND CHAPLAIN SERVICES. IN DAY-TO-DAY CHAPLAINCY, WE PROVIDE SPIRITUAL DIRECTION, ONE-ON-ONE PASTORAL CARE, AND RESPOND TO MOMENTS OF CRISES WITH CALM AND CONSISTENCY, CREATING TRUST AND ADVOCATING FOR OUR NEIGHBORS OVERALL WELL-BEING.


THROUGH OUR COMMUNITY BUILDING PROGRAMS SUCH AS RETREATS, WEEKLY SMALL GROUPS, AND ONGOING SHARED MEALS, AFP IS ABLE TO PROVIDE PLACES OF SAFETY, BELONGING, AND CONNECTION FOR THOSE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED LONG-TERM ISOLATION AND MARGINALIZATION. THESE ENVIRONMENTS AND EXPERIENCES OF RELATIONAL CONNECTION AND FELT SAFETY CREATE SUPPORTIVE FRIENDSHIPS AMONG OUR TEAM, OUR NEIGHBORS, AND OUR WIDER NETWORK.


TRAUMA-INFORMED ADVOCACY IS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF A FAITHFUL PRESENCE. IN THE CONSTEXT OF TRUSTING RELATIONSHIPS, WE COME ALONGSIDE OUR NEIGHBORS WHO ARE RECOVERING FROM DECADES OF HARDSHIP AND ARE CURRENTLY NAVIGATING THEIR OWN AND THEIR NEIGHBORS ILLNESSES, GRIEFS, DISABILITIES, AND THE END-OF-LIFE. WE HELP FOLKS NAVIGATE THESE CHALLENGES AND ACCESS RESOURCES BY OFFERING IN-DEPTH AND CUSTOMIZED SUPPORT SO THEY CAN ACHIEVE GREATER LEVELS OF STABILITY, EMPOWERMENT, AND FULFILLMENT.
