TO FORM LEADERS WHO ARE COMMITTED AND EQUIPPED TO TRANSFORM RURAL COMMUNITIES IN UGANDA THROUGH AN INTEGRATED APPROACH, INTEGRAL ECOLOGY, THAT FIGHTS POVERTY, CARES FOR CREATION, AND ADVANCES HUMAN DIGNITY.

INSTITUTE OPENED TO THE FIRST COHORT OF STUDENT CARETAKERS IN MARCH, 2021. 21 STUDENT CARETAKERS ARE ATTENDING CLASSES. THIS INCLUDES 10 FARM STAFF FOR A ONE YEAR PROGRAM. 7 CARETAKERS ARE ATTENDING THE TWO YEAR PROGRAM. 14 SEMINARIANS ARE ENROLLED IN THE THREE MONTH OVERVIEW STUDY. FUNDS WERE USED TO PAY THE FACULTY AND STAFF AS WELL AS THE HOUSING FOR THE STUDENTS AND OVERHEAD FOR THE BUILDINGS AND FARMS.
BUILDING OF ST. FRANCIS HOUSE WAS 75% COMPLETE BY THE END OF 2021. ST. FRANCIS HOUSE WILL HOUSE GUESTS, A LARGE MEETING ROOM AND BATHROOMS. THE BUILDING IS EXPECTED TO BE COMPLETE BY MARCH 2022. THE FACILITY WILL ALSO HOST CHILDREN FROM LOCAL SCHOOLS AND VISITORS INTERESTED IN LEARNING ABOUT THE INTEGRAL ECOLOGICAL APPROACH FIGHTS POVERTY AND CARES FOR CREATION.
