BACKPACK PROGRAM - VOLUNTEERS SECURE AND PACK FOOD FOR CHILDREN TO TAKE HOME FROM SCHOOL EACH FRIDAY. FOCUS IS ALWAYS ON NUTRITIOUS, KID-FRIENDLY, AND EASY-TO-PREPARE FOOD. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH 27 AREA SCHOOLS WHO IDENTIFY FAMILIES IN NEED, WILD BIRD CHARITY SECURED ENOUGH FOOD TO FEED 920 WHATCOM COUNTY CHILDREN EACH WEEK OF THE SCHOOL YEAR. DONOR CONTRIBUTIONS PROVIDED MORE THAN 22,000 BAGS OF FOOD TO CHILDREN SUFFERING FOOD INSECURITY DURING 2023.
