BACKPACK PROGRAM - VOLUNTEERS SECURE AND PACK FOOD FOR CHILDREN TO TAKE HOME FROM SCHOOL EACH FRIDAY. FOCUS IS ALWAYS ON NUTRITIOUS, KID-FRIENDLY, AND EASY-TO-PREPARE FOOD. IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS, WILD BIRD CHARITY SECURED ENOUGH FOOD TO FEED 350 WHATCOM COUNTY CHILDREN AND YOUTH 6 MEALS EVERY WEEKEND FOR MORE THAN 9 MONTHS. DONOR CONTRIBUTIONS PROVIDED MORE THAN 90,000 MEALS TO FAMILIES SUFFERING FOOD INSECURITY DURING 2021.
