ADMINISTERING AND ACCOUNTING FOR SKAGIT VALLEY FARMERS MARKET COALITION FOOD-INSECURITY PROGRAMS, WHERE VOUCHERS ARE GIVEN TO THOSE IN NEED WHICH THEY CAN USE TO PURCHASE FRUITS AND VEGETABLES FROM FARM STANDS AT PARTICIPATING, LOCAL FARMERS MARKETS. IN 2018, THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE MATCHING 100 OF ALL EBT/SNAP DOLLARS AT THE PARTICIPATING FARMERS MARKETS, PROVIDING VOUCHERS TO LOCAL FOOD BANK CUSTOMERS TO BE REDEEMED AT COALITION MARKETS, PROVIDING CHILDREN WITH MEDICAID NUTRITION INFORMATION AND VOUCHERS, AND PROVIDING VOUCHER TO HEART PATIENTS IN NEED AT A LOCAL AREA HOSPITAL. FOOD FROM FARMS ALSO ASSURES MARKET MANAGERS ARE ADEQUATELY TRAINED AND SUPPORTED TO RUN THE PROGRAMS AND COMPENSATED CLERKS AT EACH MARKET FOR THE SAME PURPOSE. THE COALITION INCLUDED THE ANACORTES, BOW, CONCRETE, MARBLEMOUNT, MOUNT VERNON, AND SEDRO WOOLLEY FARMERS MARKETS.
