THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE OF THIS ORGANIZATION IS TO BRING TO THE FOREFRONT CURRENT ISSUES WHICH FACE US AS A SOCIETY. WITH AN EMPHASIS ON LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ISSUES, WE AIM TO BRING TO THE PUBLIC A CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF HOW OUR GOVERNMENTS WORKS AS WELL AS PROVIDE A FORUM WHEREBY THOSE IN GOVERNMENT AND POLITICS MAY INTERACT DIRECTLY WITH THE PEOPLE WHO ELECT THEM. IT IS OUR GOAL TO NOT ONLY EDUCATE, BUT TO DISCUSS IN A MEANINGFUL WAY HOW OUR LEADERS MAKE DECISIONS, AND HOW THESE DECISIONS ARE REFLECTIVE OF WHAT WE AS A COMMUNITY WANT AND NEED. WE AIM TO BRING TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC EVENTS, FORUMS, AND SYMPOSIUMS THAT HIGHLIGHT THE ISSUES THAT MOVE US AS A COLLECTIVE, AND TO STIMULATE CONVERSATIONS THAT WILL LEAD TO POSITIVE AND LASTING CHANGE.OUR PRIORITY IS TO FACILILATE AN OPEN DIALOGUE AND DEVELOP NEW IDEAS TO SOLVE THE POLICY PROBLEMS THAT FACE US EVERY DAY. CREATED A NATIONAL DATABASE OF SENIOR AAPI LEADERS FROM A CROSS SECTION OF INDUSTRIES. CULTIVATED AND EDUCATED MORE THAN 325 AAPI CEOS ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF SENIOR LEVEL PUBLIC SERVICE FEATURING MEMBERS IN FORTUNE 500 COMPANIES. IDENTIFIED, SUPPORTED AND NOMINATED CANDIDATES FOR PRESIDENTIAL APPOINTMENTS IN BOTH DEMOCRATIC AND REPUBLICAN ADMINISTRATIONS CULTIVATED SEVERAL ADMINISTRATION AND WHITE HOUSE LEVEL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS FOR BOTH PARTIES. NOMINATED MORE THAN 5 CANDIDATES IN SIGNIFICANT SENIOR NON-PARTISAN POSITIONS AT THE CENSUS ADVISORY COUNCIL, THE US COMMERCE DEPT AND THE U.S. SENATE EDUCATED MEMBERSHIP ON THE U.S CENSUS ON AAPI HOUSING DEMOGRAPHICS, CONDUCTED A COMPREHENSIVE WHITE PAPER ON HOW TO ADDRESS THE STUDENT DEBT WEALTH GAP IN AMERICA. CONVENED 3 NATIONAL EDUCATION MEETINGS AT THE WHITE HOUSE, VICE PRESIDENT'S RESIDENCE AT THE NAVAL OBSERVATORY, 2 AT THE NATION'S CAPITOL, 1 AT THE SUPREME COURT.
IN THE VOTING CLIMATE THAT CONTINUES TO CHANGE, 21ST CENTURY ISSUES FORUM SPENT 2016 RESEARCHING VOTER ACTIVITY ON THE LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL LEVEL. THROUGH OUR FINDINGS, WE WERE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE TO A UNIVERSE OF VOTERS THE ISSUES THAT WERE RELEVANT DEPENDING ON ELECTION BALLOT. ADDITIONALLY, THE AMOUNT OF RESOURCES FOCUSED ON CULLING THOUSANDS OF RECORDS OF DONOR DATA IN AN EFFORT TO PROVIDE A COMPREHENSIVE RESEARCH BASE WAS EXPANDED.THE ORGANIZATION HOSTED A NUMBER OF EDUCATIONAL EVENTS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC WITH TOPICS RANGING FROM THE HEALTH CARE, TECHNOLOGY, VOTING RIGHTS, AND EDUCATION. AN EXAMPLE OF THIS WAS A RECEPTION FOR CHARLOTTE MAYOR ANTHONY FOXX, WHICH WAS ATTENDED BY OVER 40 INDIVIDUALS TALKING ABOUT THE TECHNOLOGY AND DETERMINING INNOVATIVE WAYS TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL STABILITY TO LARGE U.S. CITIES.
