IN TOTAL 24 EXHIBITS SERVED 14,742 ON-SITE VISITORS AND 146,468 ON-LIVE VISITORS.
MUSEUM EDUCATION PROGRAM. THE MUSEUM EDUCATION PROGRAM SERVES ELEMENTARY THRU COLLEGE STUDENTS, ELD/NEW COMER STUDENTS, ADULTS AND SENIORS WITH INFORMATION AND EXPERIENCES ABOUT ART, ARTISTS, HISTORY AND LITERATURE. KNOWLEDGE, COGNITIVE SKILLS AND SELF-CONFIDENCE WERE INCREASED ABOUT: ART APPRECIATION, CULTURAL HISTORY, ART MEDIA, STUDIO TECHNIQUES, ART HISTORY, ARCHITECTURE, DESIGN AND WRITING THOUGH 16 ON-GOING EDUCATION PROGRAMS THAT YIELDED AN ANNUAL TOTAL OF 178 ED PRESENTATIONS. ED PROGRAMS INCLUDED: SCHOOL, COLLEGE, & GROUP EXHIBIT TOURS (90);"ART SMART" AND "ARTIST ENCOUNTERS" CLASSROOM PRESENTATIONS (12); FREE FAMILY DAYS (4); CHILDRENS WORKSHOPS AFTER SCHOOL CLASSES (5); BUILDING BLOCKS" KIDS CLASSES (13); TEEN/ADULT "NICHOS" & "PAPER FLOWER" WORKSHOPS (3); ADULT ZAPOTECA WEAVING; ECO FLOWERS & SUMI SIP ART WORKSHOPS (14); CAM STUDIO PROJECT WORKSHOPS (3); ARTIST GALLERY TALKS (4); CAM GALLERY ARTISTS STUDIOSHIPS (3); OXNARD PLAIN COLLECTIVES ART/VIDEO CRITIQUES (3); THE STORYTELLING COLLECTIVE ADULT WORKSHOPS (9); JACKSON WHEELER POETRY SERIES WITH ADULT AND COLLEGE STUDENT POETS (6); AND PLAZA PARK FARMERS MARKET ART BOOTH ART MAKING SESSIONS (9). AUDIENCE OUTREACH PROGRAM. THE AUDIENCE OUTREACH PROGRAM INCREASES THE LOCAL COMMUNITY'S EQUALITY OF ACCESS AND PROMOTES BROADER PARTICIPATION IN MUSEUM PROGRAMS BY CITY/COUNTY RESIDENTS AND TOURISTS. LOCAL AND SOCAL AUDIENCES WERE REACHED BY MEDIA COVERAGE, ADS AND LISTINGS IN: THE VC REPORTER, ARTSCENE, THE VC STAR, BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF PT HUENEME AND OXNARD ANNUAL REPORT; OXNARD RECREATION GUIDE; "HAPPENINGS", "VAS" ON-LINE PUBLICATION. THE AGGREGATE, DISTRIBUTION OF THESE REACHED A READERSHIP OF 100,158 MONTHLY. EXHIBITS, EVENT AND ED PROGRAMS WERE ALSO PUBLICIZED BY POSTAL MAILINGS OF 8,171 ANNOUNCEMENTS AND 1,200 BILINGUAL ED FLYERS.
