OUR ANNUAL NUTCRACKER PERFORMED WITH THE 55-PIECE SANTA CRUZ BALLET THEATRE ORCHESTRA, AS WELL AS ALUMNI PRINCIPAL DANCERS. SANTA CRUZ BALLET THEATRE IS ONE OF THE ONLY PRE-PROFESSIONAL BALLET COMPANIES TO PERFORM THE NUTCRACKER WITH A LIVE ORCHESTRA.


OUR ANNUAL MIXED-REPERTORY CONCERT FEATURES A CLASSICAL OFFERING, AND NEW CHOREOGRAPHY.


THE VISION OF THE SANTA CRUZ BALLET THEATRES OUTREACH IS AN EXPRESSION OF THE SCBT SPIRIT OF ARTISTRY AND PASSION. IT FOSTERS AN APPRECIATION OF BALLET AS A VITAL CULTURAL ART FORM TO ALL AGES AND BACKGROUNDS. THE MISSION IS TO EDUCATE AND UPLIFT INDIVIDUALS OF ALL AGES AND SOCIOECONOMIC BACKGROUND.SANTA CRUZ BALLET THEATRE IS HAPPY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SPECTRA PROGRAM. A MAJOR COMPONENT OF THE CULTURAL COUNCIL OF SANTA CRUZ COUNTY'S ARTS LEARNING PROGRAM, SPECTRA COLLABORATES WITH PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS AND SCHOOLS TO PROVIDE THOUSANDS OF STUDENTS IN SANTA CRUZ COUNTY DIRECT ACCESS TO PROGRAMS IN DANCE, THEATRE, MUSIC, LANGUAGE AND VISUAL ARTS. SPECTRA MATCHES ARTISTS TO A SCHOOL'S NEEDS AND PROVIDES ARTS RESIDENCIES, WORKSHOPS, ASSEMBLIES AND STUDENT PLAYS.
