NUTRITION PROGRAM PROVIDES NUTRITIOUS MEALS TO ELDERLY CITIZENS THROUGH PROGRAMS SUCH AS MEALS ON WHEELS, NEED A MEAL, SHARE A MEAL, AND CONGREGATE MEALS. APPROXIMATELY 132,000 MEALS WERE DELIVERED DURING THE YEAR. VOLUNTEER HOURS TOTALED 14,413DURING THE YEAR..
HOMEBOUND SERVICES ADDRESSES THE PRIMARY NEEDS OF LOW INCOME ELDERLY CITIZENS THROUGH PROGRAMS SUCH AS TELEPHONE REASSURANCE, FRIENDLY VISITOR, GROCERY EXPRESS, HANDYMAN, AND ONE DAY AT A TIME. DURING THE YEAR, 2,223 TELEPHONE REASSURANCE CALLS WERE MADE, 812 ADVOCACY HOURS WERE VOLUNTEERED, 135 FANS WERE DELIVERED, 75 HANDYMAN JOBS WERE COMPLETED, 423 HOMES RECEIVED PET FOOD, 599 PERSONS RECEIVED FOOD VOUCHERS, AND 742 PERSONS RECEIVED NUTRTION SUPPLEMENTS AND PERSONAL HYGIENE ITEMS.
RETIRED AND SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM OFFERS ADULTS AGE 55 AND OVER THE OPPORTUNITIES TO VOLUNTEER IN A VARIETY OF SETTINGS THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. VOLUNTEER SERVICE HOURS TOTALED APPROXIMATELY 65,300 IN DURING THE YEAR. THIS PROGRAM WAS DISCONTINUED AND REMODELED AS THE MIDLAND COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER PROGRAM IN 2024.
