THE MISSION OF THE COUNCIL IS TO HELP ELDERLY INDIVIDUALS MAINTAIN THEIR DIGNITY AND INDEPENDENCE IN THEIR HOMES AND COMMUNITIES THROUGH COMPREHENSIVE, COORDINATED, AND COST EFFECTIVE SYSTEMS OF LONG-TERM CARE, AND LIVABLE COMMUNITIES IN CADDO PARISH. THE COUNCIL DOES THIS BY SERVING AS THE PARISH AGENCY RESPONSIBLE FOR ADVANCING THE CONCERNS AND INTERESTS OF OLDER PEOPLE AND THEIR CAREGIVERS, AND BY WORKING WITH AND THROUGH THE AGING SERVICES NETWORK TO PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF A COMPREHENSIVE AND COORDINATED SYSTEM OF HOME AND COMMUNITY-BASED LONG-TERM CARE THAT IS RESPONSIVE TO THE NEEDS AND PREFERENCES OF OLDER PEOPLE AND THEIR FAMILY CAREGIVERS.

TITLE III C-2 - HOME DELIVERED MEAL PROGRAM PROVIDES FIVE NUTRITIONAL MEALS PER WEEK TO HOMEBOUND SENIORS IN CADDO PARISH. THE LOUISIANA GOVERNORS' OFFICE OF ELDERLY AFFAIRS ESTABLISHES THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND GUIDELINES FOR THIS SERVICE.
VETERANS HOME AND COMMUNITY BASE SERVICES PROVIDE VETERANS THE OPPORTUNITY TO HIRE THEIR OWN PERSONAL CARE AIDES TO ASSIST THEM WITH DAILY LIVING ACTIVITIES. THE OVERTON BROOKS VETERANS MEDICAL CENTER IS FUNDING SOURCE FOR THIS PROGRAM.
TITLE III B - SUPPORTIVE SERVICES PROGRAM PROVIDES SENIORS CITIZENS SERVICES SUCH AS INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE, OUTREACH AND REFERRAL, HOMEMAKER, LEGAL, AND SITTER SERVICES. THE LOUISIANA GOVERNORS' OFFICE OF ELDERLY AFFAIRS ESTABLISHES THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND GUIDELINES FOR THIS SERVICE.
