NUTRITION PROGRAM PROVIDES NUTRITIOUS MEALS TO ELDERLY CITIZENS THROUGH PROGRAMS SUCH AS MEALS ON WHEELS, NEED A MEAL, SHARE A MEAL, AND CONGREGATE MEALS. APPROXIMATELY 126,000 MEALS WERE DELIVERED DURING THE YEAR. VOLUNTEER HOURS TOTALED 11,491 DURING THE YEAR..
HOMEBOUND SERVICES ADDRESSES THE PRIMARY NEEDS OF LOW INCOME ELDERLY CITIZENS THROUGH PROGRAMS SUCH AS TELEPHONE REASSURANCE, FRIENDLY VISITOR, GROCERY EXPRESS, HANDYMAN, AND ONE DAY AT A TIME. DURING THE YEAR, 1,690 TELEPHONE REASSURANCE CALLS WERE MADE, 915 ADVOCACY HOURS WERE VOLUNTEERED, 171 FANS WERE DELIVERED, 86 HANDYMAN JOBS WERE COMPLETED, 227 HOMES RECEIVED PET FOOD, 389 PERSONS RECEIVED FOOD VOUCHERS, AND 472 PERSONS RECEIVED NUTRTION SUPPLEMENTS AND PERSONAL HYGIENE ITEMS.
RETIRED AND SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM OFFERS ADULTS AGE 55 AND OVER THE OPPORTUNITIES TO VOLUNTEER IN A VARIETY OF SETTINGS THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY. VOLUNTEER SERVICE HOURS TOTALED APPROXIMATELY 41,000 IN DURING THE YEAR.
