CRISIS LINE - WE STAFF A 24/7 CONFIDENTIAL TELEPHONE COUNSELING SERVICE STAFFED BY TRAINED CRISIS COUNSELORS. WE ALSO ANSWER THE NATIONAL TALK LINE 1-800-273-TALK (8255). OVER 24,000 CALLS WERE ANSWERED IN 2020.
TEENS CAN SURVIVE - WE HAVE TRAINED SCREENERS WHO WORK WITH SCHOOLS AND OTHER GROUPS TO ADMINISTER A COMPUTER-BASED INSTRUMENT TO IDENTIFY KIDS AT RISK FOR DEPRESSION AND SUICIDE. WE PROVIDE SUICIDE AWARENESS TRAINING TO YOUTH AND ADULTS WHO DEAL WITH TEENS. IN ADDITION, WE FACILITATE SCHOOLS IN THE WRITING OF CRISIS PLANS. WE SCREENED OVER 15,000 KIDS AND TRAINED ANOTHER 11,000 TEENS AND ADULTS ON SIGNS OF SUICIDE.
SURVIVORS OF SUICIDE ("SOS") - WE PROVIDED SHORT-TERM SUPPORT GROUP PROGRAMS LED BY TRAINED FACILITATORS FOR FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF THOSE WHO HAVE COMPLETED SUICIDE. WE SERVED OVER 1,200 SURVIVORS IN 2020 THROUGH GROUPS, INDIVIDUAL MEETINGS, FURNISHING PUBLICATIONS, AND REFERRAL FOR THERAPEUTIC INTERVENTION.
