CANCER CARE SERVICES SUPPORTS CANCER PATIENTS, CARES FOR CAREGIVERS AND EMPOWERS SURVIVORS TO REDUCE THE IMPACT OF CANCER IN TARRANT COUNTY.

Part 3 - Line 4a

CCS PROVIDES SERVICES FOR 3,000-4,000 INDIVIDUALS IN TARRANT COUNTY EACH YEAR, WITH APPROXIMATELY 36% OF THOSE CLIENTS RECEIVING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE SUCH AS PAYMENTS FOR HEALTH INSURANCE PREMIUMS, CANCER-RELATED PRESCRIPTION COPAYS, NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS, TRANSPORTATION TO/FROM TREATMENT, AND LIMITED EMERGENCY FUNDS FOR CRISIS NEEDS LIKE FOOD AND SHELTER. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE DECREASES TRAUMA AND DISTRESS, WHICH IMPROVES SURVIVAL RATES. FINANCIAL NEED IS BASED ON FEDERAL POVERTY GUIDELINES, AND AVAILABILITY OF RESOURCES. CCS ALSO PROVIDES FINANCIAL ADVOCACY TO HELP CANCER PATIENTS AND SURVIVORS AVOID OR REDUCE MEDICAL DEBT. ALL SERVICES ARE PROVIDED AT NO COST.


SOCIAL SERVICES & MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT ARE PROVIDED TO CANCER PATIENTS, SURVIVORS, & CAREGIVERS IN TARRANT COUNTY - AT NO COST. MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES INCLUDE COUNSELING, PLAY THERAPY, & THERAPEUTIC ACTIVITIES FOR ALL AGES. HOLISTIC SERVICES INCLUDE SOCIAL ACTIVITIES TO REDUCE ISOLATION, RESOURCE AND REFERRAL ASSISTANCE, CANCER SCREENINGS, SPIRITUAL CARE, SUPPORT GROUPS, AND NEEDS ASSESSMENTS FOLLOWED BY EMOTIONAL, FINANCIAL, &/OR PRACTICAL SUPPORT FOR ANYONE IMPACTED BY CANCER.
