PRIMARY PURPOSE IS PROVIDING INFORMATION AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT FOR PEOPLE WITH BREAST CANCER, THEIR FAMILIES AND THEIR FRIENDS, AND OTHERS IN THE COMMUNITY WHO ARE CONCERNED ABOUT BREAST CANCER

THE BCRC PROVIDES PATIENT NAVIGATION SERVICES TO BREAK DOWN BARRIERS TO DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT. BARRIERS COULD BE FINANCIAL, HEALTH LITERACY, MEDICAL SYSTEM BARRIERS, PSYCHOLOGICAL OR BARRIERS RELATING TO TRANSPORATION OR CHILD CARE. PATIENT NAVIGATION SERVICES INCLUDE ATTENDING PHYSICIAN CONSULTATIONS WITH CLIENTS, FACILITATING SUPPORT GROUPS FOR ALL STAGES OF BREAST CANCER, TEACHING EDUCATIONAL CLASSES ABOUT PRACTICAL ASPECTS OF DEALING WITH A DIAGNOSIS OF BREAST CANCER AND ACTING AS A CLEARINGHOUSE FOR LOCAL/NATIONAL RESOURCES.
