THE BCRC PROVIDES PATIENT NAVIGATION SERVICES TO BREAK DOWN BARRIERS TO DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT. BARRIERS COULD BE FINANCIAL, HEALTH LITERACY, MEDICAL SYSTEM BARRIERS, PSYCHOLOGICAL OR BARRIERS RELATING TO TRANSPORATION OR CHILD CARE. PATIENT NAVIGATION SERVICES INCLUDE ATTENDING PHYSICIAN CONSULTATIONS WITH CLIENTS, FACILITATING SUPPORT GROUPS FOR ALL STAGES OF BREAST CANCER, TEACHING EDUCATIONAL CLASSES ABOUT PRACTICAL ASPECTS OF DEALING WITH A DIAGNOSIS OF BREAST CANCER AND ACTING AS A CLEARINGHOUSE FOR LOCAL/NATIONAL RESOURCES.
