ESTABLISHED IN 1914, THE ART LEAGUE HAS BEEN RUN BY VOLUNTEERS FOR 109 YEARS. COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION THE ART LEAGUE WORKS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OTHER LOCAL NON-PROFITS TO ENRICH THE CULTURAL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT.DIVERSITYPARTICIPATE IN CITYWIDE ANNUAL JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION; HELD RETROSPECTIVE EXHIBIT OF LOCAL ARTIST AND EDUCATOR, DR. ERMA M. PHILLIPS, "THROUGH MY EYES." KIDS SUMMER ART CLASSES EVERY YEAR, THE ART LEAGUE OFFERS A TWO-WEEK-LONG LOW-COST WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN 8-12. WORKSHOPS WORKSHOP CLASSES AND DEMONSTRATIONS ARE HELD PERIODICALLY AND ARE OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. K-12 JURIED SHOW HELD IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE GRAND KIDS FESTIVAL IN APRIL, THE SHOW ALLOWS LOCAL STUDENTS (K-12) TO COMPETE FOR PRIZES AND SHOW OFF THEIR ARTISTIC ABILITIES. MEMBER & JURIED SHOWS TWELVE TIMES A YEAR, THE GALLERY CHANGES SHOWS: NINE MEMBERSHIP SHOWS AND THREE JURIED SHOWS THAT ANYONE AGE 16+ CAN ENTER.
