THE ADVISORY BOARD PROVIDED AND ADMINISTERED GRANTS TO BOOKER T. WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE PERFORMING AND VISUAL ARTS, ITS STUDENTS AND FACULTY.APPROX. 156 GRANTS (A 25% INCREASE FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR) PROVIDED FUNDS FOR COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS, TUITION TO PROGRAMS AND SUMMER INTENSIVES AT PRESTIGIOUS VENUES, PRIVATE LESSONS, TRAVEL ASSISTANCE FOR STUDENTS TO VISIT UNIVERSITIES AND TO PARTICIPATE IN COMPETITIONS, MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, DANCE CLOTHING, SCHOOL SUPPLIES, LAPTOP COMPUTERS, AND SOFTWARE.THE ADVISORY BOARD ALSO FACILITATED AND/OR FUNDED THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMMATIC INITIATIVES: TRAUMA TRAINING AS IT RELATES TO IMPACT ON SCHOOL COMMUNITIES/TEACHING & LEARNING FOR THE ENTIRE FACULTY/STAFF; PRODUCED AND HOSTED 2022 BTW CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION CONCERT IN CELEBRATION OF THE SCHOOLS' 100TH YEAR ; PRODUCED AND HOSTED CENTENNIAL ALUMNI VISUAL ARTS EXHIBITION; YEAR ONE OF THREE: TEN THOUSAND THINGS THEATRE CO.(MINNEAPOLIS, MN.)
