THE BLUEBONNET CHILDREN'S ADVOCACY CENTER (CAC) PROVIDES A SAFE, CHILD-FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT WHERE LAW ENFORCEMENT, CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES, PROSECUTION, AND MEDICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS CAN SHARE INFORMATION AND DEVELOP EFFECTIVE, COORDINATED STRATEGIES SENSITIVE TO THE NEEDS OF EACH CASE AND EACH ABUSED CHILD. THE CENTER PROVIDES SPECIALIZED FORENSIC INTERVIEWING, COUNSELING, MULTIDISCIPLINARY TEAM CASE REVIEWS, COMPREHENSIVE ADVOCACY SERVICES AND COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES WITH ADVOCACY CENTERS IN HONDO, TEXAS AND UVALDE, TEXAS.
THE PROGRAM SERVES AS COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES (CASA) FOR CHILDREN THAT ARE IN A FOSTER SETTING. THE ORGANIZATION RECRUITS AND TRAINS VOLUNTEERS TO BE ADVOCATES FOR ABUSED AND NEGLECTED CHILDREN IN THE COURT SYSTEM TO ENSURE SAFE, TIMELY AND PERMANENT PLACEMENT FOR CHILDREN LIVING IN MEDINA, REAL AND UVALDE COUNTIES. THE ADVOCATES MAY MEET WITH THE CHILDREN AND RELATIVES, ATTEND COURT HEARINGS AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE COURT FOR PLACEMENTS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CHILD.
TEXAS BAR GRANT - THE PROGRAM ASSISTS THOSE WHO TURN TO THE LEGAL SYSTEM FOR PROTECTION BY PROVIDING PRACTICAL TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES THAT HELP ADULTS ACHIEVE RESPECTFUL, HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS WITH THEIR CHILDREN. ALL OF OUR WORK IS BASED ON A PSYCHOLOGICALLY SOUND PARENTING AND TEACHING PHILOSOPHY CALLED LOVE AND LOGIC.
