IN 2021, PROJECT SAFEGUARD STAFF PROVIDED 4,307 SERVICES TO 955 VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE. SERVICES PROVIDED BY NON-ATTORNEY LEGAL ADVOCATES INCLUDED SAFETY PLANNING, ASSISTANCE IN PETITIONING THE COURT FOR CIVIL PROTECTION ORDERS; ORIENTATION TO THE CIVIL LEGAL SYSTEM, ACCOMPANIMENT TO COURT HEARINGS; AND REFERRAL TO OTHER COMMUNITY RESOURCES. SERVICES PROVIDED BY ATTORNEYS INCLUDED REPRESENTATION AT PERMANENT PROTECTION ORDER HEARINGS, REPRESENTATION IN FAMILY LAW MATTERS, AND LEGAL ADVICE.
