WEATHERIZATION PROGRAM - TACAA OPERATES UTILITY-FUNDED WEATHERIZATION PROJECTS IN TEXAS THAT SUPPLEMENT THE FEDERAL DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY AND DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES WEATHERIZATION PROGRAMS TO REDUCE THE ENERGY BURDEN FOR LOW INCOME HOUSEHOLDS. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES ENERGY EFFCIENCY MEASURES SUCH AS INSULATION, CAULKING, AND APPLIANCE REPLACEMENT, AS WELL AS EDUCATION ON HOW TO SAVE ENERGY. TACAA SUBCONTRACTS WITH EXISTING PROVIDERS OF THE FEDERAL WEATHERIZATION PROGRAMS OPERATING IN THE UTILITY COMPANIES' SERVICE AREAS.
CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM - TACAA PROVIDES TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCIES AND OTHER COMMUNITY SERVICES BLOCK GRANT RECIPIENTS IN TEXAS ON ADMINISTRATIVE, FISCAL AND PROGRAMMATIC TOPICS TO INCREASE THE CAPACITY OF THESE ORGANIZATIONS.
