PROMOTE TOURISM, BUSINESSES, AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE PORT ARANSAS, TEXAS AREA - THE CHAMBER STRIVES TO ACCOMPLISH IT'S PROGRAM SERVICES THROUGH VARIOUS COMMUNITY FUNCTIONS, SPECIAL EVENTS, AND OPERATION OF THE VISITOR'S CENTER. THE LARGEST ANNUAL SPECIAL EVENT IS THE WHOOPING CRANE EVENT THAT THE ALLOWS ATTENDEES TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE ENDANGERED SPECIES AND VIEW THE BIRD IN ITS NATURAL HABITAT. THE VISITOR'S CENTER IS OPEN SIX DAYS A WEEK AND OFFERS GUESTS AND TOURIST BROUCHURES AND INFORMATION ABOUT LOCAL BUSINESSES AND ACTIVITIES.
