GCC LED THE CITY OF TULSA AND THE NATION IN RECOGNIZING THE 100-YEAR COMMEMORATION OF THE 1921 TULSA RACE MASSACRE. ALONG WITH TULSA PUBLIC SCHOOLS CREATED A CURRICULUM TO TEACH THE HISTORY OF BLACK WALL STREET AND THE 1921 TULSA RACE MASSACRE & MADE SEVERAL LESSON PLANS FOR VARIOUS AGE GROUPS AVAILABLE ON ITS WEBSITE. WORKED WITH MICROSOFT TO CREATE A SECTION ON MICROSOFT'S MINECRAFT: EDUCATION EDITION THAT TEACHES THE HISTORY OF THE GREENWOOD DISTRICT TO MILLIONS OF STUDENTS AROUND THE WORLD. GCC COLLABORATED WITH THE GATHERING PLACE IN TULSA & SERVED AS THE HOST FOR THE KINSEY AFRICAN AMERICAN ART & HISTORY COLLECTION. THE EXHIBIT IS ONE OF THE LARGEST AND MOST PRESTIGIOUS AFRICAN AMERICAN ART AND HISTORY COLLECTIONS IN THE WORLD.
HOSTED "BLACK WALL STREET": AN ARTISTIC REFLECTION," IS A MUSICAL THAT INCORPORATES MUSIC, DANCE, POETRY & STORYTELLING. THE SHOW COMMEMORATES THE 1921 TULSA RACE MASSACRE THROUGH THE ARTS. GCC HOSTED A FILM FESTIVAL, A "YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS" EXPO, A VIRTUAL REALITY FILM BY AYANA BARAKA THAT FEATURED DR. OLIVIA J. HOOKER,A TULSA RACE MASSACRE SURVIVOR.
