AQUATICS: TEACHING YOUTH AND ADULTS HOW TO SWIM AND WATER SAFETY.
HEALTH ENHANCEMENT: THE YMCA OF NORTHWEST LOUISIANA BELIEVES THAT EXERCISE AND HEALTH EDUCATION ARE IMPORTANT FOR PEOPLE OF ALL AGES AND ABILITIES. PARTICIPATION IN YMCA HEALTH AND FITNESS PROGRAMS OFFER OPPORTUNITIES FOR FRIENDSHIP AND COMMUNITY, A SENSE OF WELL-BEING, SELF CONFIDENCE, IMPROVED MENTAL ABILITIES, ALONG WITH HEALTHY HEARTS, LUNGS, BONES AND MUSCLES. OUR PROGRAMS INCLUDE STRENGTH TRAINING, WALKING, PERSONAL FITNESS, EXERCISE FOR BEGINNERS, YOGA, WEIGHT MANAGEMENT, AND GROUP EXERCISE INCLUDING AEROBICS AND STATIONARY BICYCLE FITNESS TRAINING. THE YMCA HAS SUBSIDY PROGRAMS FOR LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS.
SPORTS AND RECREATION: THE YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAMS PROVIDE CHILDREN WITH POSITIVE ACTIVITIES AND CARING ADULT ATTENTION.
