GIBA STUDENT LEADERSHIP AWARDPROGRAM TO ENCOURAGE, RECOGNIZE AND REWARD FIVE (5)SELECTED AREA HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS EACH YEAR WHO HAVEDEMONSTRATED STRONG LEADERSHIP POTENTIAL THROUGH ACOMBINATION OF SCHOLASTIC EXCELLENCE, COMMUNITY SERVICE,AND EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES. THE FOUNDATION RECOGNIZESTHESE STUDENTS AT AN ANNUAL EDUCATION AWARDS BREAKFASTEVENT WITH A PLAQUE AND A MONETARY GIFT.
THE YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS ACADEMY (YEA!) IS AGROUNDBREAKING, 30-WEEK, AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM THAT TEACHESSELECTED STUDENTS, FROM 7TH TO 12TH GRADE, ALL OF THESKILLS NECESSARY TO LAUNCH AND RUN THEIR OWN REALBUSINESSES THROUGH A PROVEN, PROJECTS-BASED CURRICULUM.THE YEA! PROGRAM EMPOWERS UP TO 26 AMBITIOUS LOCAL-AREASTUDENTS ANNUALLY TO BECOME REAL ENTREPRENEURIAL SUCCESSSTORIES WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO LAUNCH THEIR BUSINESS,COMPETE FOR INVESTMENT DOLLARS, AND, IF SELECTED, COMPETEREGIONALLY AND NATIONALLY.THIS YEAR STUDENTS PARTNERED TO CREATE TWELVE (12) NEWBUSINESSES AND RECEIVED INSTRUCTION, MENTORSHIP ANDINSIGHTS FROM MORE THAN FORTY (40) BUSINESS LEADERVOLUNTEERS FROM THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.
