UNITED WAY OF SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI IS A COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AND IMPACT ORGANIZATION WHOSE MISSION IS "TO IMPROVE LIVES BY LEADING AND MOBILIZING THE CARING POWER OF SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI." UNITED WAY IS A COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATION SERVING THE RESIDENTS OF FORREST, LAMAR AND PERRY COUNTIES AND IS GOVERNED BY VOLUNTEERS FROM THIS THREE-COUNTY AREA. UNITED WAY, OPERATING THROUGH ITS NETWORK OF 21 PARTNER AGENCIES, HAS ENABLED THOSE AGENCIES TO PROVIDE DIRECT HEALTH, WELFARE, SOCIAL AND HUMAN SERVICES TO OVER 55,000 AREA RESIDENTS IN THE PAST YEAR.
