A ROBUST YEAR OF NETWORKING EVENTS OCCURRED IN 2023. THE 401K SKEET AND TRAP SHOOT CONTINUED AS OUR PREMIER EVENT SETTING A RECORD IN REVENUE AND PROFITS. WITH OUR ENDOWMENT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI CONSTRUCTION + DESIGN FULLY FUNDED, WE TURNED OUR ATTENTION TO A SIMILAR ENDOWMENT AT MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY WITH A THIRD-YEAR PAYMENT POSSIBLE BECAUSE OF OUR 401K SKEET AND TRAP SHOOT PROFITS.THE YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM (YLP) IS GOING STRONG. THIS PROGRAM WAS DESIGNED FOR CONSTRUCTION PROFESSIONALS UNDER 40 YEARS OF AGE. SO FAR, THAT HAS BEEN THE CASE WITH OVER 50 ACTIVE MEMBERS IN THE YLP. MANY YLP EVENTS OCCURRED IN 2023 INCLUDING BOWLING GET TOGETHERS, SOCIAL DROP-INS AND A VERY SUCCESSFUL GOLF TOURNAMENT. A FULL SLATE OF YLP EVENTS IS PLANNED IN 2024. MEMBERSHIP HAS REMAINED STABLE DURING 2023. OUR SAFETY PROGRAM SUFFERED A SET BACK IN JUNE OF 2023, WHEN OUR SAFETY DIRECTOR CARL DOWDEN, PASSED AWAY. WE WERE IN RECOVERY MODE FOR A FEW MONTHS AND HIRED LLOYD MUNN AS OUR SAFETY DIRECTOR IN OCTOBER OF 2023. LLOYD BRINGS A VAST AMOUNT OF EXPERIENCE TO AGC HAVING WORKED FOR CADENCE INSURANCE AS DIRECTOR OF LOSS CONTROL SERVICES. HE JOINED THAT TEAM IN 2004. WITH OVER 30 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE INDUSTRY HE HAS WORKED WITH VARIETY OF BUSINESS AND ESTABLISHED HIMSELF AS A COMPETENT TRAINER AND IS CERTIFIED TO TRAIN IN MANY AREAS. WE ARE FORTUNATE TO HAVE HIM JOIN OUR TEAM.
