HERO'S ACTIVITIES ARE AS FOLLOWS:THINK TANK MEMBERS MEET IN FEBRUARY, MAY/JUNE AND IN THE FALL PRECEDING THE ANNUAL HERO FORUM. ORIGINALLY FORMED TO SEEK ANSWERS TO RISING HEALTH CARE COSTS FOR COMPANIES THROUGH IMPROVING EMPLOYEE HEALTH THROUGH PREVENTION AND WELLNESS EFFORTS, THE THINK TANK HAS EXPANDED ITS WORK TO ALSO STUDY THE IMPACT OF MENTAL HEALTH ON ORGANIZATIONAL PRODUCTIVITY AND WORKER PERFORMANCE, THE INFLUENCE OF COMPANY CULTURE ON EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT, AND THE LEADERSHIP BUSINESS CAN PROVIDE IN IMPROVING COMMUNITY HEALTH.HERO COMMITTEES, COMPRISED OF THINK TANK MEMBER COMPANY EMPLOYEES, AREDEVELOPING GUIDANCE FOR EMPLOYERS IN AREAS SUCH AS WORKPLACE MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING, DEFINITIONS AND MEASUREMENT OF EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE, AND THE INNOVATIVE EFFORTS OF EMPLOYERS TO COLLABORATE WITH COMMUNITY HEALTH LEADERS TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY AS WELL AS THEIR WORKFORCE.THE ANNUAL HERO FORUM BRINGS TOGETHER THOUGHT LEADERS WITH ATTENDEES TO SHARE BEST PRACTICES, DISCUSS INNOVATION AND RESEARCH IN THE FIELD AS WELL AS CREATE A NETWORKING OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL INVOLVED. IN ADDITION, ON A MONTHLY BASIS HERO PROVIDES COMPLIMENTARY WEBINARS TO HERO MEMBERS AND THE EMPLOYER MARKETPLACE ON TOPICS OF INTEREST RELATED TO WORKPLACE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING.THE HERO SCORECARD IS A TOOL EMPLOYEES CAN USE TO BENCHMARK THEIR HEALTH AND WELL-BEING PROGRAMS AGAINST A NATIONAL DATABASE OF ALL EMPLOYERS THAT HAVE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED THEIR SCORECARD RESPONSES. THIS IS A FREE TOOL DEVELOPED BY HERO MEMBERS TO HELP EMPLOYERS COMPARE THEIR PROGRAMS AGAINST BEST PRACTICE PROGRAMS. THE SCORECARD HAS LARGE, MIDSIZE AND SMALL EMPLOYER RESPONSES IN ITS DATABASE. COMPANIES CAN ALSO ORDER A REPORT TO COMPARE THEIR ANSWERS TO THE NATIONAL AVERAGE FOR EACH OF THE 80 QUESTIONS ASKED IN THE SCORECARD TO HELP IDENTIFY WHERE SPECIFIC GAPS IN THEIR PROGRAMS MAY EXIST. FOR ORGANIZATIONS THAT WORK WITH MULTIPLE EMPLOYERS AND THAT WISH TO HAVE THEIR CLIENTS' DATA EXTRACTED FROM THE OVERALL DATABASE AND REPORTED ON A REGULAR BASIS, HERO HAS CREATED THE SCORECARD PREFERRED PROVIDER PROGRAM. MEMBERS OF THIS PROGRAM PAY AN ANNUAL LICENSE FEE TO RECEIVE QUARTERLY REPORTS ON THEIR CLIENTS' ANSWERS AS WELL AS THE NATIONAL RESPONSES. HERO OFFERS A U.S. VERSION AS WELL AS AN INTERNATIONAL VERSION OF THE HERO SCORECARD, WHICH WILL ALLOW ORGANIZATIONS TO BENCHMARK THEIR ACTIVITIES GLOBALLY. HERO RELEASED VERSION 5 OF THE U.S SCORECARD IN FEBRUARY 2021 AND PLANS TO RELEASE AN UPDATE TO THE INTERNATIONAL SCORECARD IN 2022.HERO FACILITATES IMPORTANT, ACTIONABLE RESEARCH IN HEALTH AND WELL-BEING FOR EMPLOYERS. ITS MEMBERS COME TOGETHER ANNUALLY TO UPDATE THE RESEARCH AGENDA TO REFLECT AREAS OF IMPORTANCE TO STUDY IN ORDER TO IMPROVE EMPLOYERS' UNDERSTANDING OF THE IMPACT OF THESE PROGRAMS ON EMPLOYER BUSINESS RESULTS. WHEN A RESEARCH TOPIC IS EVALUATED AS AN APPROPRIATE FOCUS FOR HERO TO LEAD, HERO WILL DESIGNATE RESEARCH FUNDS TO SUPPORT A STUDY, A MULTI-YEAR, MULTI-ORGANIZATIONAL ENDEAVOR TO ASSESS THE IMPACT OF INCENTIVES DESIGN ON PARTICIPATION AND WORKPLACE HEALTH OUTCOMES AT THE ORGANIZATION-WIDE LEVEL. THE SCORECARD RELIABILITY AND VALIDITY STUDY, COMPLETED IN 2019, WAS PUBLISHED IN TWO JOURNALS IN EARLY 2020.
