TENNESSEE ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY ACTION (TACA) IS AN ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO SOLVING THE PROBLEMS OF POVERTY WITHIN THE STATE OF TENNESSEE. TACA STRIVES TO PROMOTE THE CAUSES OF TENNESSEANS THAT ARE POOR, ELDERLY AND DISABLED; TO PROMOTE THE INTEREST AND INCREASE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF MEMBER AGENCIES; AND TO ENCOURAGE THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS. TACA IS THE MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION FOR THE 20 COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCIES (CAAS) IN THE STATE OF TENNESSEE. IN COLLABORATION WITH BUSINESS, EDUCATION, FAITH-BASED, HEALTHCARE, NON-PROFIT, FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL PARTNERS, AGENCIES PRODUCE OUTCOMES TO MOVE INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES FORWARD TO SELF SUFFICIENCY AND BRING CHANGES IN LOCAL COMMUNITIES. TACA ESTABLISHES AND MAINTAINS LOCAL, STATE, AND NATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS THAT HELP CUSTOMERS OF MEMBER AGENCIES TO ACHIEVE THEIR FULL ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL POTENTIAL. TACA CONDUCTS RESULTS-ORIENTED MANAGEMENT AND ACCOUNTABILITY (ROMA) TRAINING THROUGHOUT TENNESSEE. ROMA IS A PERFORMANCE-BASED INITIATIVE DESIGNED TO PRESERVE THE ANTI-POVERTY FOCUS OF COMMUNITY ACTION. IT AIDS IN ASSESSING THE POVERTY NEEDS AND CONDITIONS WITHIN THE COMMUNITY; ORGANIZES AND IMPLEMENTS PROGRAMS, SERVICES, AND ACTIVITIES; AND DEVELOPS AND IMPLEMENTS STRATEGIES TO MEASURE AND RECORD IMPROVEMENTS IN THE CONDITION OF LOW-INCOME MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY. SERVING THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, TACA WORKS TO STENGTHEN ITS MEMBERS AS THEY WORK TO BUILD A STRONGER TENNESSEE THROUGH COMPREHENSIVE ANTI-POVERTY PLANS AND STRATEGIES.
