DURING FY2021 LEADERSHIP MEMPHIS OFFERED TWO PROGRAMS: THE EXECUTIVE PROGRAM AND THE FASTTRACK PROGRAM. A TOTAL OF 121 INDIVIDUALS COMPLETED AND GRADUATED FROM THEIR RESPECTIVE PROGRAM. EXECUTIVE PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS COMPLETED 120 HOURS OF COURSE WORK AND FASTTRACK PARTICIPANTS 40 HOURS. MORE THAN 120+ LEARNING JOURNEYS TOOK PLACE OUTSIDE THE CLASS SETTING AND 120+ DOING JOURNEYS (VOLUNTEER PROJECTS) WERE COMPLETED IN CONJUNCTION WITH VOLUNTEER MEMPHIS. THE EXECUTIVES FACILITATED SERVICE LEARNING PROJECTS IN EIGHT DISADVANTAGED NEIGHBORHOODS AROUND THE CITY OF MEMPHIS.
VOLUNTEER MEMPHIS (VM) WAS PREVIOUSLY KNOWN AS VOLUNTEER MID-SOUTH. IT BECAME AN ACTION INITIATIVE OF LEADERSHIP MEMPHIS IN 2015 AND STRIVES TO INCREASE VOLUNTEERISM THROUGHOUT THE MEMPHIS AREA. IN FY 2021 VOLUNTEER MEMPHIS REACHED A MARKET OF OVER 32,000 REGISTERED VOLUNTEERS, 380 AGENCIES IN OUR DATABASE SYSTEM, OVER 5,560 SPONSORED VOLUNTEER PROJECT HOURS, AND 1,720 VOLUNTEERS. VM DISTRIBUTED 36,000 MASKS AND 4,500 PPE EQUIPMENT ACROSS 10 COUNTIES IN THE MID-SOUTH AREA. VM ALSO HOSTED THE VOLUNTEER MEMPHIS AWARDS TO RECOGNIZE THE 300,000 PEOPLE WHO VOLUNTEER IN THE MEMPHIS AREA EVERY YEAR. NEARLY 300 INDIVIDUALS, NONPROFITS, AND BUSINESSES WERE NOMINATED FOR AWARDS IN 6 CATEGORIES, AND THE AWARDS VIRTUAL RECEPTION HAD MORE THAN 400 ATTENDEES PRE AND POST-EVENT. COMPANIES WORK WITH VOLUNTEER MEMPHISTO ORGANIZE EMPLOYEE SERVICE PROJECTS AND INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES, AND TEAMS CAN VISIT THE VM WEBSITE TO FIND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES POSTED BY NONPROFITS IN SEARCH OF VOLUNTEERS.
