DURING THE 2020-2021 PROGRAM YEAR, LEADERSHIP BIRMINGHAM ADJUSTED TO THE CHALLENGES OF COVID-19 BY VIRTUALLY ENGAGING THE LEADERSHIP BIRMINGHAM MEMBERS ASSOCIATION WITH 85 EXPERTS, AUTHORS, AND LEADERS ON A VARIETY OF COMMUNITY ISSUES AND COMPLEX TOPICS. LEADERSHIP BIRMINGHAM HOSTED 30 ONLINE EVENTS ON SUBJECTS INCLUDING RACIAL EQUITY, K-12 EDUCATION, DIGITAL LITERACY, NONPROFIT LEADERSHIP, AND BIRMINGHAM'S ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT WITH THE GOAL OF EDUCATING AND CONVENING MEMBERS THROUGH THE ISOLATION OF A GLOBAL PANDEMIC. THROUGH THESE EVENTS, LEADERSHIP BIRMINGHAM CONNECTED OVER 500 MEMBERS TO IMPORTANT TOPICS AND TO EACH OTHER AND INSPIRED MANY LEADERS TO GREATER CIVIC, PROFESSIONAL, AND PERSONAL LEADERSHIP.


IN THE 2020-2021 PROGRAM YEAR, YOUTH LEADERSHIP FORUM (YLF) ADJUSTED TO THE CHALLENGES OF COVID-19 BY VIRTUALLY ENGAGING TEENS AND YLF ALUMNI THROUGH SKILLS WORKSHOPS. THE WORKSHOPS FOCUSED ON TIME MANAGEMENT, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, COLLEGE PREPARATION, COLLEGE APPLICATIONS, AND INTERVIEWING SKILLS. THROUGH THESE EVENTS, YLF CONNECTED OVER 50 TEENS TO PERTINENT AND IMPORTANT TOPICS TO HELP THEM EXPAND THEIR PERSONAL NETWORKS AND PREPARE THEM FOR LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL.


THE MEMBERS ASSOCIATION CONTINUES THE NETWORKING, EDUCATION, AND INSPIRATION THAT LEADERSHIP BIRMINGHAM CLASS MEMBERS EXPERIENCE DURING THEIR PROGRAM YEAR. THERE ARE OVER 1,600 ALUMNI WHO MAKE UP THE LEADERSHIP BIRMINGHAM MEMBERS ASSOCIATION. DURING THE 2020-2021 PROGRAM YEAR, OVER 500 MEMBERS THROUGHOUT THE SOUTHEAST ENGAGED IN AT LEAST ONE OF 30 VIRTUAL EDUCATIONAL EVENTS OR PARTICIPATED IN A CLASS REUNION WITH THE GOAL OF EDUCATING AND CONVENING MEMBERS THROUGH THE ISOLATION OF A GLOBAL PANDEMIC.
