OVER THE COURSE OF THE 2021-2022 PROGRAM YEAR, LEADERSHIP BIRMINGHAM PROVIDED OVER 250 HOURS OF ENGAGING EDUCATIONAL CONTENT TO A CLASS OF 48 DIVERSE LEADERS FROM THE CORPORATE, CIVIC, SMALL BUSINESS, COMMUNITY, CREATIVE, NONPROFIT, HEALTHCARE, JUDICIAL, GOVERNMENT, RELIGIOUS AND ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS, SECTORS, AND COMMUNITIES. THE LEADERSHIP BIRMINGHAM CLASS OF 2022 LEARNED ABOUT OUR AREA'S CRITICAL ISSUES IN EDUCATION, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, JUSTICE, LOCAL AND REGIONAL GOVERNMENT, HEALTH, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION, HUMAN SERVICES AND QUALITY OF LIFE FROM OVER 350 EXPERTS. THEY DEVELOPED LASTING RELATIONSHIPS AND COLLABORATED ON SIX DIFFERENT GROUP PROJECTS THAT POSITIVELY IMPACT THE GREATER BIRMINGHAM COMMUNITY AND ITS PEOPLE.
IN THE 2021-2022 PROGRAM YEAR, YOUTH LEADERSHIP FORUM PROVIDED OVER 75 HOURS OF ENGAGING EDUCATIONAL CONTENT TO A CLASS OF 34 HIGH SCHOOL SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS FROM THE GREATER BIRMINGHAM AREA. THE YLF CLASS OF 2022 LEARNED ABOUT CRITICAL ISSUES IN GOVERNMENT, HUMAN SERVICES, THE ARTS, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, AND EDUCATION FROM OVER 80 COMMUNITY EXPERTS. YLF CLASS MEMBERS RECEIVED AN ADDITIONAL TEN HOURS OF TRAINING IN LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, CIVIC RESPONSIBILITY, TIME MANAGEMENT, AND COLLEGE READINESS AND PREPARATION. THE YLF CLASS OF 2022 DEVELOPED DEEP FRIENDSHIPS, EXPANDED THEIR PERSONAL NETWORKS, AND DEVELOPED THE KNOWLEDGE AND DESIRE FOR DEEPER CIVIC ENGAGEMENT AND ACTION.
THE MEMBERS ASSOCIATION CONTINUES THE NETWORKING, EDUCATION, AND INSPIRATION THAT LEADERSHIP BIRMINGHAM CLASS MEMBERS EXPERIENCED DURING THEIR PROGRAM YEAR. THERE ARE OVER 1,500 ALUMNI WHO MAKE UP THE LEADERSHIP BIRMINGHAM MEMBERS ASSOCIATION. DURING THE 2021-2022 PROGRAM YEAR, THE ASSOCIATION HOSTED FOUR EDUCATIONAL AND SOCIAL EVENTS FOR ITS MEMBERS.
