TO PROMOTE AN UNDERSTANDING OF AND INTEREST IN WILDLIFE AND THE ENVIRONMENT THAT SUPPORTS IT, AND TO FURTHER THE CAUSE OF CONSERVATION OF ALL NATURAL RESOURCES.

CONSERVATION - AUDUBON EVERGLADES PROVIDES VARIOUS PROGRAMS FOR ITS MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC TO FURTHER THE CONSERVATION EFFORT AND A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE ENVIRONMENT. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PARTNERS WITH OTHER NON-PROFITS TO PROMOTE THE USE OF NATIVE PLANTS, PROVIDE HABITAT FOR BURROWING OWLS, AND HOUSOING FOR PURPLE MARTINS. WE PARTICIPATE IN CITIZEN SCIENCE ACTIVITIES, INCLUIDNG NATIONAL AUDUBON'S CHRISTMAS BIRD COUNT. EDUCATION - AUDUBON EVERGLADES CONDUCTS PROGRAMS TO FURTHER PUBLIC'S UNDERSTANDING OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND WILDLIFE CONCERNS. THIS INCLUDES A MONTHLY SPEAKER PROGRAM OPEN TO THE PUBLIC FEATURING A DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENTAL TOPIC EACH MONTH. THR ORIGANIZATION PARTICIPATES IN MANY PUBLIC OUTREACH PROGRAMS, SUCH AS EVERGLADES DAY AT LOXAHATCHEE NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE. IT SUPPORTS THE PALM BEACH COUNTY SCHOOLS THROUGH GRANTS TO THE GREEN SCHOOLS PROGRAM. DONATIONS - THR ORGANIZATION MAKES CONTRIBUTIONS TO VARIOUS ENTITES INVOLVED IN PRESERVATION OF WILDLIFE, PARTICULARLY BIRDS, AND ALSO DONATION TO FURTHER UNDERSTANDING OF THE ENVIRONMENT. OTHER ACTIVITIES - AUDUBON EVERGLADES FURNISHES MEMBERS WITH A MONTHLY NEWSLETTER (THE EVERGLADES KIE) WITH ARTICLES ON BIRDS AND THE ENVIRONMENT, AS WELL AS ANNOUNCEMENTS OF UPCOMING SPEAKERS AND OTHER EVENTS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO HAS A WEBSITE WITH A LOT OF ENVIRONMENTAL AND BIRDING INFORMATION AS WELL AS LINKS TO RELATED ORGANIZATIONS AND A LIBRARY OF OUR PAST PROGRAMS. AUDUBON EVERGLADES HOSTS MANY BIRDING FIELD TRIPS IN THE LOCAL AREA.
