PROVIDE FINANCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT AND SERVICES FOR FAMILIES WHO HAVE A CHILD WITH CANCER; SUPPORT INCLUDES: FUNDING THE CHILD LIFE SPECIALIST POSITION AT NEMOURS SERVING APPROXIMATELY 315 PATIENTS IN ACTIVE TREATMENT ANNUALLY IN THE ONCOLOGY DEPARTMENT; PROVIDED 212 FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE REQUESTS TO FAMILIES; HELD MONTHLY IN PERSON SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS; PROVIDED FOR 17 FAMILIES TO ATTEND A FAMILY RETREAT WEEKEND FOR RESPITE; AND PROVIDED DISEASE SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS TO APPROXIMATELY 120 FAMILIES WITH NEWLY DIAGNOSED CHILDREN WITH CANCER.
