MY SPECIAL AFLAC DUCKMY SPECIAL AFLAC DUCK IS A SOCIAL ROBOT SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO SUPPORT THE PSYCHO-SOCIAL NEEDS OF CHILDREN WITH CANCER AND BLOOD DISORDERS SUCH AS SICKLE CELL, INCLUDING PROVIDING COMFORT, PLAY AND DISTRACTION FEATURES, MEDICAL PLAY, AND AS A TOOL THROUGH WHICH CHILDREN CAN MORE EASILY COMMUNICATE WITH THEIR HEALTHCARE TEAM AND FAMILY. AT NO COST TO PATIENTS, HOSPITALS OR ORGANIZATIONS - DURING CALENDAR YEAR 2022, THE AFLAC CHILDHOOD CANCER FOUNDATION DISTRIBUTED 2,758 MY SPECIAL AFLAC DUCKS TO CHILDREN WITH CANCER THROUGH PEDIATRIC CANCER HOSPITALS, PEDIATRIC CANCER CAMPS AND FAMILY ORDERS THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES. THE AFLAC CHILDHOOD CANCER FOUNDATION DISTRIBUTED 4,121 MY SPECIAL AFLAC DUCKS WITH SICKLE CELL SPECIFIC ACCESSORIES TO CHILDREN WITH SICKLE CELL THROUGH HOSPITALS, ORGANIZATIONS AND FAMILIES IN 2022. HOLIDAY DUCK/AFLAC CHILDHOOD CANCER CAMPAIGN MERCHANDISEANNUAL DISTRIBUTION OF NET PROCEEDS TO PARTICIPATING HOSPITALSTHE AFLAC CHILDHOOD CANCER FOUNDATION INC. CHILD LIFE & PEDIATRIC CANCER GRANTSTWELVE (12) CHILD LIFE PROGRAMS AT HEALTHCARE ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS THE U.S. RECEIVED FUNDING IN SEPTEMBER 2022 FROM THE AFLAC CHILDHOOD CANCER FOUNDATION, INC. (ACCF) TO SUPPORT THEIR WORK TO REDUCE STRESS AND ANXIETY FOR PEDIATRIC PATIENTS WITH CANCER AND BLOOD DISORDERS AND THEIR SIBLINGS. THE FOUNDATION AWARDED EACH WITH A CHILD LIFE GRANT OF $2,500, BRINGING THE TOTAL DONATED BY THE ACCF THROUGH THIS ANNUAL PROGRAM TO $115,000 SINCE 2018.
