THE MISSION OF FADAA IS TO SOLICIT AND ADMINISTER GRANTS, CONTRACTS, CONFERENCES AND OTHER ACTIVITIES THAT SUPPORT WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, ADDRESS PUBLIC EDUCATION ON BEHAVIORAL HEALTH ISSUES, PROVIDE TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, AND OTHER ACTIVITIES THAT SUPPORT MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER PREVENTION, TREATMENT AND RECOVERY INITIATIVES AND THE WORK OF THE FLORIDA BEHAVIORAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION.

PASS THROUGH GRANTS FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA TO PROVIDE EXTENDED-RELEASE INJECTABLE NALTREXONE (VIVITROL) TO TREAT ALCOHOL OR OPIOID-ADDICTED INDIVIDUALS. THE STATE OF FLORIDA CONTRACTS WITH FADAA TO MANAGE A PROGRAM ENABLING COMMUNITY-BASED SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT PROVIDERS TO ACCESS THIS MEDICATION AS A TREATMENT OPTION.
