RESIDENTIAL SERVICES: PARC MAINTAINS FOUR RESIDENCES FOR ADULTS WITH INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES IN ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA. BETWEEN THE FOUR RESIDENCES, PARC HAS 94 PEOPLE LIVING FULL-TIME IN THE PROGRAM WITH A RANGE OF AGE AND ABILITIES. THE RESIDENTS' WELL-BEING IS PARC'S PRIMARY CONCERN AS THEY LIVE, WORK AND ENJOY LIFE IN PINELLAS COUNTY. THE RESIDENTIAL STAFF AT PARC BELIEVES THAT PARC RESIDENTS DO NOT LIVE IN A PARC FACILITY, WE WORK IN THEIR HOME.
CHILDREN'S SERVICES: PARC OFFERS THREE DISTINCT PROGRAMS SERVING HUNDREDS OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES A YEAR - THE DISCOVERY LEARNING CENTER, AN AWARD-WINNING CAREGIVER RELIEF RESPITE PROGRAM AND EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES. THE DISCOVERY LEARNING CENTER IS ONE OF THE FEW PRE-SCHOOLS IN PINELLAS COUNTY SERVING CHILDREN AGES 2 MONTHS TO 5 YEARS. THE DISCOVERY LEARNING CENTER OFFERS EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES TO CHILDREN WITH INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES, INCLUDING THOSE DIAGNOSED WITH AN INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITY OR "AT-RISK" FOR DEVELOPMENTAL DELAYS. (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)PARC'S PROGRAMS DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT INDIVIDUALIZED EARLY INTERVENTION PLANS THAT MEET EACH CHILD'S LEARNING NEEDS TO ENSURE THAT EVERY CHILD ENTERS KINDERGARTEN READY TO LEARN, ACHIEVE ACADEMIC SUCCESS AND DEVELOP STRONG LIFE SKILLS. PARC'S COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES INCLUDE CAREGIVER RELIEF TO GIVE FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES A BREAK AND EARLY INTERVENTION TO FAMILIES IN CRISIS SUPPORTING AND REFERRING THEM TO COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES.
LIFELONG LEARNING (ADULT DAY TRAINING): ADULTS AT PARC LOOK FORWARD TO THEIR CHOICE OF ENJOYABLE AND PURPOSEFUL ACTIVITIES. AT FULL CAPACITY, CLOSE TO 300 ADULTS TAKE PART IN PARC'S LIFE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM ON A DAILY BASIS. THE PANDEMIC AND THE CURRENT CHALLENGE IN HIRING QUALIFIES STAFF HAS REDUCED ENROLLMENT TO APPROXIMATELY 175 PER DAY. AT PARC, INDIVIDUALS CHOOSE WHICH PROGRAMS THEY WANT TO TAKE PART IN. COMPONENTS OF THE LIFELONG LEARNING PROGRAM INCLUDE INSPIRED ARTIST STUDIOS @ PARC, ADULT TECHNOLOGY ACHIEVEMENT CENTER, FINANCIAL LITERACY/HEALTHY LIVING/RECREATION, AND PARC CENTER INDUSTRIES. PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO INCREASE SELF-SUFFICIENCY, CONFIDENCE IN PERSONAL DECISION MAKING AND TO WORK WITH STAFF DESIGNING THEIR PROGRAMS AND CLASSES TO MEET THEIR INTEREST AND NEEDS.
COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT SERVICES: PARC PROVIDES EMPLOYMENT SERVICES PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS WITH INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. OUR PROGRAMS OFFER A WIDE RANGE OF PRE-EMPLOYMENT AND EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMMING THROUGH DAY AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMMING THAT ALLOWS INDIVIDUALS TO GAIN INDEPENDENCE. INDIVIDUALS LEARN EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS, SOCIALIZATION, DAILY LIVING, AND SELF-ADVOCACY SKILLS IN SAFE, SUPERVISED ENVIRONMENTS.TRANSPORTATION: ON A DAILY BASIS, PARC'S FLEET OF 40 VEHICLES PROVIDES CRITICAL DOORSTEP-TO-DOORSTEP SERVICE TO AND FROM OUR PROGRAMS. IN ADDITION, WE ALSO TRANSPORT INDIVIDUALS TO A VARIETY OF MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS, EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMS, COMMUNITY TRIPS, AND A VARIETY OF OTHER OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES. PARC'S TRANSPORTATION STAFF MAKES CLOSE TO 1,300 TRIPS MONTHLY, LOGGING MORE THAN 170,000 MILES EVERY YEAR. PARC IS PROUD TO BE A DESIGNATED TRANSPORTATION PROVIDER APPROVED BY BOTH THE MPO OF PINELLAS COUNTY AND THE DOT OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA. TRANSPORTATION IS A KEY SERVICE AVAILABLE TO BOTH CHILDREN AND ADULTS PARTICIPATING IN PARC PROGRAMS. THE SERVICE IS ONE OF THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE TRANSPORTATION PROGRAMS OFFERED BY HUMAN SERVICE AGENCIES IN SOUTH PINELLAS COUNTY.
