THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF GREATER ORLANDO (JLGO) IS AN ORGANIZATION OF WOMEN COMMITTED TO PROMOTING VOLUNTEERISM, DEVELOPING THE POTENTIAL OF WOMEN, AND IMPROVING THE COMMUNITY THROUGH THE EFFECTIVE ACTION AND LEADERSHIP OF TRAINED VOLUNTEERS. OUR PURPOSE IS EXCLUSIVELY EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE.

FOR MORE THAN 70 YEARS, THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF GREATER ORLANDO (JLGO) AND ITS 455 COMMITTED WOMEN MEMBERS FROM DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS HAVE CONTRIBUTED MORE THAN ONE MILLION HOURS OF SERVICE AND 1 MILLION TO THE GREATER ORLANDO COMMUNITY. IT IS AN ORGANIZATION OF TRAINED VOLUNTEERS WELL RECOGNIZED FOR ENHANCING THE LIVES OF FAMILIES AND CHILDREN. THEY ARE SPECIFICALLY COMMITTED TO IMPROVING CHILDHOOD HEALTH, HUNGER, AND POVERTY IN THE GREATER ORLANDO AREA. OVER THE PAST 70 YEARS, THE JLGO'S EFFORTS HAVE HELPED CHILDREN, THE ELDERLY, AND FAMILIES, WHILE AT THE SAME TIME DEVELOPING THE LEADERSHIP AND VOLUNTEER ABILITIES OF ITS MEMBERS WHOSE FOOTPRINT IN THE COMMUNITY IS EXPANSIVE AND ONGOING. AS NEEDS EVOLVE IN THE GREATER ORLANDO COMMUNITY, SO DO THE JLGO'S PROGRAMS. JLGO PROVIDES TRAINED VOLUNTEERS TO A WIDE RANGE OF COMMUNITY EVENTS AND PROGRAMS AND IS SPECIFICALLY FOCUSED ON IMPROVING CHILDHOOD HEALTH, HUNGER, AND POVERTY IN GREATER ORLANDO. CURRENT PROGRAMS INCLUDE, MENTORING ADOLESCENT GIRLS TO INSPIRE CHANGE (MAGIC) AND HIP KIDS (HEALTHY INFORMED PLAYFUL KIDS). ADDITIONALLY, THE LEAGUE SUPPORTS APPROXIMATELY 3-4 COMMUNITY PARTNERS THROUGH THE COMMUNITY ACTION TEAM (CAT) PROGRAM.
