THE SOUTH CAROLINA CANCER ALLIANCE IS IMPLEMENTING THE STATE CANCER PLAN AS THE PRIMARY BUSINESS PLAN THAT INCLUDES SEVEN SECTIONS ON THE CROSS-CUTTING CANCER TOPICS HEALTH ADVOCACY AND POLICY, HEALTH DISPARITIES, CAPACITY BUILDING, CANCER PREVENTION, PATIENT CARE AND SURVIVORSHIP. ADDITIONALLY, THE CANCER PLAN INCLUDES EIGHT SECTIONS ON SELECTED CANCERS - THOSE CANCERS FOR WHICH EARLY DETECTION SCREENING STRATEGIES ARE AVAILABLE AND THOSE CANCERS IDENTIFIED IN OUR CANCER REPORT CARD AS BEING THE MOST COMMON IN OUR STATE. WE MEASURE OUR SUCCESS BY THE EXTENT TO WHICH WE CARRY OUT THE STRATEGIES AND ACCOMPLISH THE OBJECTIVES SET FORTH IN THIS CANCER PLAN. THE IN-DEPTH GOALS FOR CANCER PREVENTION AND CONTROL IN SOUTH CAROLINA ALONG WITH THE MEASURABLE OBJECTIVES AND SPECIFIC STRATEGIES TO BE USED TO ACCOMPLISH IT ARE PUBLISHED IN THE STATE CANCER PLAN AND READILY AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
