FOR 13 YEARS, DRAGON BOAT CHARLESTON HAS CONDUCTED ITS ANNUAL FUNDRAISER, THE DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL, IN MAY, TO SUPPORT PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR FOR CANCER PATIENTS, SURVIVORS AND SUPPORTERS. THE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES OF DRAGON BOAT CHARLESTON ALL SERVE TO PROMOTE THE HEALING AND HEALTHY LIFESTYLE OF CANCER SURVIVORS AND THEIR COMMUNITIES WHILE REDEFINING CANCER SURVIVORSHIP. THE ORGANIZATION IS CAREFUL TO PROVIDE PROGRAMS OF VARYING DEGREES SO THAT EVERY PATIENT/SURVIVOR HAS A PLACE "IN THE BOAT" REGARDLESS OF ABILITY, AGE, STAGE OF DISEASE OR REHABILITATION, OR DEMOGRAPHIC.
